Recycling Route Driver

Job Description:

Operate a recycling collection vehicle (generally a box truck) to service commercial recycling accounts.

Description of Duties:

Ensure assigned vehicle is in proper operating condition by performing pre-trip and post-trip checks IAW prescribed DOT requirements. Bring deficiencies to the attention of management for correction. DO NOT DRIVE ANY UNSAFE VEHICLE.

Ensure vehicle is loaded correctly with respect to the assigned route before leaving the warehouse.

Service locations specified in a professional manner, providing personable interaction with customers where applicable.

Work quickly but safely, efficiently but thoroughly, paying special attention to the details associated with each stop. Ensure that any spills inside of client’s offices are cleaned thoroughly prior to leaving client’s premises.

Ensure any materials which are confidential in nature are handled with special care per company instruction.

Manage effectively the route assistant(s) assigned. Report any personnel issues relating to inadequate or improper performance of the route assistant(s) to management immediately. A good working relationship between all employees is a must.

Minimum Skills Required:

Class C license with experience driving non-CDL vehicles
Clean 7 year MVR
High School Diploma or equivalent
No criminal record involving theft, robbery, embezzlement or similar convictions
Neat appearance
Good oral and written communication skills; General reading and basic map reading skills
Ability to follow specific directions
Customer service skills
Ability to lift up to 75 lbs repeatedly during the day
